Nikon has just announced Nikon Total Station DTM-322 with enhanced functions. The software can be downloaded on our website www.nikontools.com Nikon’s DTM-322 total station offers a suite of enhanced functions, including three points per second laser scanning, 30% more battery capacity and the ability to measure in meters or feet/inches with the same instrument. The enhanced features are available in two modes: Construction Mode for site layout and monitoring tasks, and Survey Mode for terrestrial control surveys. Construction Mode features three points per second laser scanning which is significantly faster than typical rate of one point per second on most other currently available ranges of equipment in its class. With the enhanced Survey Mode, users can switch between measuring in meters or feet/inches without changing accessories, saving time during field work. This feature is especially useful for those who are not familiar with measurement units used in different countries, as there is no need to purchase separate accessories. Additional battery power can be supplied by an external battery pack (DTB-100), boosting the total capacity of the instrument’s internal battery pack to 1100 mAh. The rubber-armored DTM-322 also offers a rugged design with vibration compensation, dustproofing for operation in harsh conditions and an ergonomic pistol grip that allows comfortable use of the laser emitter. Class-leading minimum angular resolution of 0. 002° enables finer work adjustments in surveying, while the highly precise azimuth measurement scale of 0.0005° over 90° provides precise control of the laser’s beam across the ground. The new DTM-322 is equipped with a new 15" LCD monitor with 1,440,000 dots and maximum 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution for easy viewing of digital images and maps. The DTM-322 also boasts an easy-to-use user interface that allows users to display complex site plans or survey layouts in great detail. An integrated database feature lets users store up to 300 saved measurements that can be easily recalled anytime after power failure or while on another instrument by simply entering the user identification code. The auto-overlay capability of the DTM-322 allows for automatic and accurate superposition and measurement of images and surveys, and greatly enhances efficiency. With its rugged design, the DTM-322 is ideal for construction site monitoring where clinometer measurements are common. Auto setting switches between standard angle (0° or 360°) and slope (inclinometer) measurements automatically according to the operation mode. Selecting RTC (Real Time Communication) automatically transfers horizontal measurements to a GIS unit via wireless communication, which greatly increases efficiency during construction site layout processes. Combined with an effective range of up to 984 m (3,237 ft), class-leading minimum angular resolution of 0.002°, 0. 0005° azimuth scale, the Nikon DTM-322 total station offers a suite of enhanced functions for a wide range of surveying tasks in construction and engineering. Nikon also offers a full range of accessories for the DTM-322, including additional battery packs, an external power source and a long list of binoculars and digital cameras for enhanced viewing in the field. Nikon’s DTM-322 total station measures 1.9 x 4.9 x 2.1 inches (4.8 x 12.5 x 5 cm), weighs only 3 pounds (1. eccc085e13
